SOL Farm in the Community News!

An article is published about the SOL Farms in the Chilliwack Progress (April 24, 2012) announcing our new CSA and shares available in Chilliwack. The response is uplifting and we'll most likely meet our target of 10 shareholders for this year's growing season! We are so excited!

Easter Weekend at the Farm

A beautiful Easter weekend and a great day to be at the farm!

Jason adds some 'soil amender' to the dirt and rota-tills it in.

Rachel gives it a try too!

Planting kohlrabi and other garden delights!

Meanwhile, on the same day there is a work party going on in the Community Garden.

SOL Farmer, Laura, helps out by beautifying the front entrance sign board.

Other volunteers come out to make more raised beds, add soil to the beds, and gravel to the pathways!

A great day!

Working the Soil

Volunteers are busy planting over 300 tiny garlic shoots that were donated from a community member. It may be a little late in the season for these to grow into a bulb, but the greens will be fantastic!

Jason (above) exemplifying a proud farmer. Yipee!

We Reap What We Sow

Spring is in the air and the seedlings are waiting to be transplanted to the farm!
Leeks, lettuce, spinach, kolarabi, and more!
